The Pain of 2009

After the 2009, Irish football results were duly typed out and posted by a member of my staff. (Located somwhere on the right side of the blog).  The obvious has again become painfully clear.

**  For whatever reasons, our defense was truly terrible.  Two defensive coaches?  Poor coaching?  Poor technique?  Crappy Tackling skills.  Lack of overall talent?  Lousy luck and no breaks?  Hybrid 4-3 and 3-4. No game plan?  Maybe all of the above......  

**  The entire team had no gas in the tank for the fourth quarter.

**  Nevada and Washington State played lousy against the Irish.

**  The Irish could have won all six games they lost.

**  They lost those six games by a total of 32 points.

**  The Irish could have lost four of the six games they won.

**  Throwing out the NV and WSU games, the Irish won those four games by a total of 17 points.
