Lightning in a Bottle

The next quarterback for the Fighting Irish does NOT have to be lightning in a bottle.  However we’ll save the title “Golden Boy” for his junior or senior year.
We do need a quarterback who will not fumble on the enemy’s three yard line and let somebody recover the ball and flip it to the ref in OUR end zone.

We need a quarterback to quit throwing picks in the red zone.
Have at least some mobility to tuck and run when necessary.

Someone to quit staring down the primary receiver and quickly check the entire field.
Make the short passes to the tight end.

Connect with the receiver coming out of the backfield.
Run on the quarterback draw.

Lead the team but don’t carry the weight on his shoulders and think he has to make every play and win every day singlehandedly.
Notre Dame has not had a truly incumbent quarterback in three years.  This has got to stop.
