New Twist to the Spring Coaches Clinic

Coach Brian Kelly raised a lot of eyebrows and some puzzlement with yesterday’s announcement concerning the annual Blue-Gold Game scheduled for April 24th. While their will be no honorary coaches or former ND Hall of Famers on the field, Coach Kelly did do something no former coach dared to try. He has invited all former Fighting Irish coaches back to his Spring Coaches Clinic April 15-17. The results of those that responded to the invitations were mixed at best.

Ara Parseghian and Gerry Faust declined because of poor health.

Bob Davie is out of the country announcing European football.

Lou Holtz declined considering it inappropriate.

Charlie Weis could not fit the time into his schedule being heavily involved with the Kansas City NFL draft deliberations.

Ty Willingham had a conflict with a previous tee-time.
