Let The Vultures Feast

Let the media, Notre Dame haters, know-it-all football pundits all fight over a piece of the carcass left on the storm-drenched field of Notre Dame Stadium.  Man I hate vultures.
Be wary of those calling for any and everybody’s head.

I truly feel sorry for all the players that played up to their potential and fought until the bitter, bitter end.  There were a lot of them for sure, especially on defense.
I am embarrassed by those that made mistakes trying to catch, carry, kick the football or do not understand the penalty rules of the game.  In some cases, it looked as if they had never played before.

You cannot blame the coaches, trainers, water people, referees, ushers, announcers, cheerleaders or band members.  No, it falls on the shoulders of a few that could not respond to the game at hand.
Fortunately tomorrow the sun will rise and Brian Kelly can get down to business of correcting what went wrong and prepare for Michigan.

It's going to be a long season. I think we see the deck shuffled next couple weeks. Might as well get the younger set some experience. If we'd won by seven points I would feel just as bad. Look at the scores of the leading teams that took on their early season cup cakes. South Florida is not a good team. Good for a warm up and sharpen up the routes. Not something that is supposed to hang in there with you. So we spot them a few points. Big deal. Snap out of it. I don't know if we'll see Crist again. He, and a few others, needs psychiatric treatment; forget about more practice. It's too late to learn, he should have been there by now. At this age you are what you are. Remember Tate's magnificant hands? And Stoval's? You've either got it or you don't.
Anyway, next week I will sit back and relax and simply watch the game. I don't have to try and control things by boucing off the couch into the coffee table. Wife thinks I'm nuts. From now on it's "Oh, my" and there's always next year.

I’ve quit drinking the Kool-aid, in fact I threw it all back-up after Rees hit Jones in the head with that last interception.

I am at a loss for words to explain or figure out how or what that Notre Dame Team was that showed up this past Saturday.

The skill players looked, played, performed terrible. A complete digestion from the momentum of 2010-2011.

It appeared that before the game they sat around and all decided that at least one of them would screw-up and either cost us points or give them to USF. If I didn’t know any better it reminded me of the Black Sox scandal.

Michigan is going to kill us.

Dayne Crist is the modern Ron . A true 5-star bust. I am flabbergasted by the number of 5-star recruits that we land and dont pan out. Unbelievable. Good luck Rees!

That should be Ron Powlus.
